a few words from James Baldwin

There is still a lot to say. But you don't need any more words from me today. So, I am just going to ask you to please, please vote.

Saeed Jones is a great social media follow. He's an even better writer. Today, I'll be sitting with one of his books, Alive at the End of the World.
Last week, I went to my neighborhood Episcopal church. It'd been a while since I sat in a pew. I guess I am still coming to grips with the spaces between religion and what I can see out of the corner of my eye.
Still, I am grateful I went. A visiting Baptist pastor delivered the sermon. He shared one of my favorite quotes from James Baldwin. I bowed my head and wept with relief. As long as James Baldwin is being preached from a pulpit somewhere, the possibility of something better feels...almost tangible.
Here is a video of that quote, followed by another James Baldwin statement I will hold onto - no matter who wins.
I'll check in on you tomorrow,
